Peer Sharing + Mentoring w/ Marcus Cope

We are delighted to welcome artist Marcus Cope, curator and co-founder of the Marmite Prize for Painting, to K-FEST 2018. Marcus will meet with Screaming Pope Art Prize nominees and other visual artists at the the following events. Follow the ticket link to book your spot.

Artist's Talk with Marcus Cope

Peer Sharing Event

When: Saturday, 2nd June (11.45 - 13.15)

Where: An Sean Scoil, Killorglin

Places: Open to 4 Kerry artists and 4 artists from outside Kerry

Artists will make short (10 - 15min) presentations of their work to an intimate audience for feedback. After each presentation Marcus will facilitate a constructive and supportive discussion amongst the group. 

Sunday Morning Mentoring

When: Sunday, 3rd June (10.00 - 14.00)

Where: Various exhibition spaces in Killorglin.

Marcus Cope will provide one-to-one mentoring sessions with current and previous participants of the Screaming Pope Art Prize.

Marcus Cope (b.1980) is a painter and co-founder and curator of the Marmite Prize for Painting. Recent solo shows were All the Chairs are Broken (2015) and Made in Lempa (2014) both at studio1.1, London; Another Man's Patter (2014) at Pluspace, Coventry. Recent group shows include Nature Morte (2016), Bohusläns Museum, Sweden; Radical Me (2016), Tannery Arts Project Space, London; Mind Out (2016), APT, London. Cope has been a visiting lecturer at many institutions including NCAD, Dublin; Camberwell College of Art, London; Chelsea College of Art, London; Northumbia University, Newcastle; Plymouth College of Art; Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge; Cyprus College of Art, Cyprus; and Coventry University. marcuscope.co.uk
