So you want to feel something? u2028 Naked Lungs are a four-piece DIY noise outfit from Ireland, blending harsh, heavy instrumentation with melodic hooks to create a cathartic, emotional release in their tracks. They utilise distorted soundscapes and driving rhythms, all the while maintaining their unique approach to both songwriting structure and lyrics. u2028 Following a trio of scorching live performances supporting Enola Gay, Bullet Girl and The Love Buzz at the tail end of 2021, the band released their debut single “Database”, produced by Gilla Band’s Dan Fox, in 2022. The single garnered feverish support from the likes of Steve Lamacq of BBC Radio 6, Sian Elveri of BBC Radio 1 and Anthony Fantano of The Needle Drop, who shared the single and accompanying music video with a straight-forward: “that’s spicy”. u2028 The band is set to release their debut EP this year, accompanied by live dates in both Ireland and the UK. Stuart Clarke of Hot Press wrote of their debut headline gig: “ this could be the first and last time you see them in such intimate surroundings”.
