Next up in our ‘Meet the Artist’ series is the wonderfully talented Corina Fitzgibbon based in the flatlands of Kildare.
A Visual Artist and Printmaker, Corina has attained a BA Honours Degree in Fine Art Printmaking and Contemporary Practice from Limerick School of Art and Design in 2014. Since then she has been working hard within her practice and has exhibited her artwork all over Ireland. Corina Fitzgibbon was a finalist for the screaming pope prize in October 2021.
Corina’s latest piece “The Path to Freedom” takes inspiration from people’s values and beliefs in an almost post pandemic and war torn world. With exhaustion and fear consuming people, Corina turned her creative outlet to an expression of self & society.
In Corina’s own words: ‘’This piece is dedicated to all who are struggling with mental health and life, with loss and grief as we come out of a pandemic and into a world gone crazy, take it one dot at a time and be kind, help when you can, even if its in a small way.’’
